DATA & METHODOLOGY

Where the forecast comes from.

WeatherOnCue combines established public weather services with a practical interpretation layer designed to make forecasts easier to act on.

Forecast data

Current conditions, hourly forecasts, and multi-day forecasts are provided through Open-Meteo weather services.

Official U.S. alerts

Active severe-weather alerts are requested from the National Weather Service API for the selected location.

Radar

Radar visualization uses NOAA/NWS radar map services with an OpenStreetMap base layer.

Your Cue

Your Cue is WeatherOnCue’s interpretation layer. It looks at near-term rain probability, thunderstorms, feels-like temperature, wind and gusts, plus active alerts, then turns those signals into simple planning guidance.

Outdoor-work window

The outdoor-work window is an informational planning aid based on configurable thresholds for heat, precipitation, wind, gusts, and thunderstorms. It is not a safety guarantee.

Important limitation

Weather can change quickly. For emergency decisions and official warnings, follow instructions from the National Weather Service, local authorities, and emergency management agencies.
